Strindberg’s plays in the Trilogy follow a progression: (1) Creditors is a love triangle around a seductress; (2) Pariah is a duel about guilt between two men who have committed crimes in the past; (3) The Stronger is a soliloquy by a woman who speaks in front of another woman (her husband’s mistress) who says nothing. They are all power games established through the argumentative manipulation that the characters try on each other. The same three actors performed the three plays. The first play was directed by Rogério de Carvalho and the following two by Jorge Andrade, based on his experience with the guest director. A television interrupted the action of Pariah with white noise and was used in The Stronger so that the actress could play herself. The three plays were presented in a single show, on a white square, where the same furniture and an embalmed hare varied in position.
