Invited to create ‘O que vem depois da esperança?’ (What comes after hope?), Brazilian artist Ave Terrena will fulfil a residency at mala voadora to create a dramaturgy based on the search for visibility, empowerment, a sense of belonging and transvestite and transsexual representation in Portugal. The creation critically reflects on how these bodies have been constructed and represented in the media over time in the Portuguese imagination. Produced by the University Theatre of Porto, the show is directed by Hilda de Paulo and will later be presented at mala voadora.
