For the first time, the mala voadora will host the end-of-course exercise of a group of students from the University of Minho’s Theater Degree. The play “O Abismo Olha de Volta”, in two acts, questions the pillars of reality and fiction, moving between the literal abyss and the metaphorical abyss. In the first act, we are invited by Dona Lurdes to enter her house and share stories, outbursts and a lot of “tea” with her. In the second, in an atmosphere reminiscent of 1940s film noir, we follow the execution of a hostage by three mobsters. The “Abyss Looks Back” is nothing more than a reflection on the perfect balance that governs life: the naked truth, and the fiction that we feed in our imagination to support reality.
