This is a text by Gary McNair, one of the most notable Scottish playwrights today. Conversations between men, about women. Men talking about women with the obscene ease with which many do in conversations between men, or with the obscene ease with which Donald Trump used the expression “Grab her by the pussy” without knowing he was being overheard. That which some call “toxic masculinity”. Here, these conversations are reproduced by women. They are transposed to a feminine “parlor”, making the statements coincide with their object. This is what mala voadora proposed to four Portuguese actors: Crista Alfaiate, Isabél Zuaa, Mariana Magalhães and Tânia Alves.

This performance was presented as part of the program of the Uma Família Inglesa festival, which mala voadora dedicated to women, in this year’s edition.
