Casa and jardim are two shows that run simultaneously and are performed by the same eight actresses, following an idea by Alan Ayckbourn. The action takes place during a party and the characters move between the inside and outside of a house. Between the house and the garden. The audience sees what happens in one space and, after an interval, what happens in the other. The eight women have disparate conversations. Everything seems to be falling apart around them, and they organise themselves to act, although it’s not until the end of the show that we realise exactly what they intend to do: a collective suicide to be broadcast in real time on a television channel.
