Mary Beard and I have a few things in common: we both have green eyes, we’re both blonde, although actually her hair is grayish, we both have the same name even though it’s written and pronounced differently, both our mothers are/were teachers and we both read Ovid’s Metamorphoses. Mary Beard is used to doing conferences, this is my first one. From Penelope to Hillary Clinton, from Medusa to the Me Too movement, from a chant of Homer to a comment box on Twitter #womenandpower simulates the ways used by the occidental culture and its social and political mecanisms to silence women, trying to keep them away from credibility and any systems of power. This is a staged conference.
