single
Seven individuals inhabit the same apartment, as if each one of them does it alone. On their turn, each one of them goes to the audience and talks to them as if he's a Ethipia Emperor Haile Selassie's serving man. The set of testemonies builds the sovereign's daily life's picture. To continue on telling the story, the seven individuals will gradually feel the need to interact. They do it, mostly, while they act political events, namely the fall of the Empire. Single started from two texts: “Cell Block, Egospheres, Self-Container: The Apartment as a Co-Isolated Existence”, by Peter Sloterdijk, and The Emperor by Ryszard Kapuściński. The first portraits the individual domestic universes built by those who choose to live on their own; the second one tells Selassie's life story, around which the life of all Ethiopia was organized.
