Happy Together 3
For the third consecutive year, mala voadora joins Fórum do Futuro, doubly: proposing speakers whose talks integrate the programme of the Forum - the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement's activist, Les U. Knight and the artist, technologist and philosopher, Koert van Mensvoort - and organizing a call for art, “Happy Together“, which focus on the same theme of the Forum of the Future. The winners of this year's edition were Tiago Cadete, Guilherme Sousa + Pedro Azevedo, and Sónia Baptista (with Carolina
Campos, Júlia Rocha and Raquel Melgue).
Antecipating the official opening of the Forum of the Future, the exhibition of the winning works of call for art "Happy Together 3" opens on 4 November, 21:30, at mala voadora and will be open during all the days of the Forum. Free entry.
An important aspect of this edition is the fact that this year the theme of the Forum of the Future, “Terra Eléctrica” (Electric Earth), and the investigation that mala voadora carried out to produce its new show, converged in a common thematic territory: AMAZÓNIA premieres on 9 November at São Luiz Teatro Municipal, in Lisboa, followed by presentations at the Theatro Circo in Braga (24 and 25 November) and arriving at Porto on 26 and 27 January 2018, at Teatro Rivoli.

winning works - call for art
Amazónia is not a fiction by Tiago Cadete
"Amazonia is not a fiction" is a project about the documentation of a trip that Tiago Cadete will do during ten days to the Amazon. The intention is to take only one photograph that will represent his travel through the Amazon’s forest.
The Amazon is the saddest place in the world by Sónia Baptista with Carolina Campos, Júlia Rocha e Raquel Melgue
A poetic narrative of attractions and repulsions, sane and insane or, one doesn't know how much, sane. The Amazon is sad because she's disappearing, the Amazon is sad because she cannot be taken, the Amazon is sad because she's losing herself.
Horto, uma forma que vem do toque by Guilherme de Sousa e Pedro Azevedo
An installation that seeks to trigger a relationship between two different groups of people, starting from an exchange of affection between men and plants: a concept scientifically called Thigmomorphogenesis (from the Greek, thigmo “touch", morpho "form", e genesis “origin”).
The jury responsible for the selection of the proposals were constituted by three elements of mala voadora (Jorge Andrade, José Capela and Vânia Rodrigues), Guilherme Blanc, representating the Municipality of Porto, Daniel Fraga, architect and researcher, and Marcelo Evelin, dancer and coreographer.
