Festival DDD - Dias da Dança . Launch
The Festival DDD – Dias da Dança is a contemporary dance festival that brings together the municipal councils of Porto, Matosinhos and Gaia, through a programme that articulates several performance venues and public spaces, and a multitude of artists, partners and public. For this edition, the circuit will be assured by the partnerships established between Teatro Municipal do Porto - Rivoli and Campo Alegre, Fundação de Serralves, Teatro Nacional São João, Coliseu Porto, Teatro do Bolhão, Mala Voadora (Porto), Teatro Municipal de Matosinhos Constantino Nery (Matosinhos), Armazém 22 (Gaia) and Balleteatro, which is responsible for the public spaces programme.
Running from April 26 to May 13 – and celebrating World Dance Day on April 29 - Festival DDD will present 27 shows and a host of other activities across three specific areas: DDD IN (Performances), DDD OUT (Public Spaces / Corpo + Cidade), DDD EXTRA (Workshops, Masterclasses, Meetings, Cinema and Meeting Point DDD). The presentation of a wide and densely packed in space and time programme and the visibility that only a festival can provide to artists, become the two main pillars of Festival DDD – Dias da Dança, which was conceived as a project that artfully involves the three cities, through the plurality of partners, artists and audiences.
