Conspurcados
Sullied deals with the notion of purge processes, of exorcism, the getting rid of the prevailing of appearences. Sullied bodies, impure bodies, abject bodies, bodies on the virge of being consumed by the voracity of the images they produce. There is, nevertheless, a certain beauty and atraction for the excess, for searching for the limits, for the process of questioning what they project for the outside: like a game of decaying identities looking for a possible reconstitution.
The possibility of chosing between loving, rejecting or beeing indifferent to oneself, is the central core of this game or confrontation between interior and exterior; this is where the possible bounderies dilute: the body gives itself to the act of playing and to the act of interacting with the group, with the objects, the timings, the actions, and the spaces.
At the end, the important thing is to survive the game, re-write oneself in the world, recuperate the pleasure of having a body, a body completely made of the dilemas of imminence.
This work is a direct response to an invitation to create a new choreographic piece for BCN. Having followed some of the more recent BCN productions and being aware of the dynamic that the dancers of the company have has a group, I decided to work having the expressive potencial of the dancers as a starting point. The work will chanlande their capacity of being transported by the movement and exercise the choreography as a way of reconfiguring the quality of their presences, criating different tonalities in the plasticity and mobility of the body on stage.
The choreographic writing will take central place in the development of the piece, on a stage completely black, the choreographic work will develop from de production of physical images, of rithms and sounds, in an integrated perspective. Occasionally, there will be some small objects, which will function as obstacles, as instruments for space definition or as enigmatic props. The scenary will result from the use and re-apropriation of props, costumes and objects from past productions of the company, not with the idea of revising the past, but rather as a process of dialogue with fragments of memory, possibilities of transformation, and a conscious construction of horizons.
