chinoiserie

Chinoiserie, about the cultural identities, was conceived based on a collection of around 2000 bibelots. Such as the peculiar East images offered by chinoiserie, the bibelots are imaginative. Their interest is, on the one hand, in the possibility of being faithful to what they represent, on the other, on their capacity to create representation. In the show, we develop a duel between two plans: the bibelots' presentation on a large format video (organized by different series) and a representation's space with two actors. In the end, after an incursion into the video plan, where they sing pop songs that refer to East (I Like Chinese, Little China Girl, Big in Japan, etc.), the actors end up describing with detail hundreds of bibelots.
