Ambulatório AICA . Talk with Paulo Pires do Vale and Delfim Sardo

On the September 30th, mala voadora welcomes the second meeting in the scope of Ambulatório AICA programme,  this time about the presentation of a book on Alberno Carneiro's three instalations.

Between 1968 and 1973, Alberto Carneiro (Coronado, 1937 – Porto, 2017) made three instalations that were determinants to his career and to all the portuguese art that came after - "O Canavial: memória-metamorfose de um corpo ausente" (The canavial): memory-metamorphosis of an absent body, 1968, "Uma floresta para os teus sonhos" (A forest for your dreams), 1970, e "Um campo depois da colheita para deleite estético do nosso corpo" (A field after the harvest for aesthetics treat of our body), 1973-1976. The three pieces - in exhibition at Culturgest Porto until October 1st - make up telluric situations, in which the countryside presence, recriated in the exhibition area by the rigorous and careful organization of the nature cycle elements.

The last of this pieces, much more difficult to produce once it fully depends on the nature cycle, isn't seen at Porto since 1976, at Soares dos Reis museum.

In the scope of a partnership with Culturget, mala voadora welcomes the Ambulatório AICA (Associação Internacional de Críticos de Arte) program meetings at Porto. It is a set of meetings and conversations between critics, curators and artists around the exhibitions of Culturgest at Porto and Lisbon. The informal typology of these conversations, opened to the audience, intends to bring to the discussion subjects raised by the exhibitions, extending it throught dialogue between very different - and sometimes contradictory - perspectives.
