A Manual on Work and Happiness . Alcobaça
A group of people, following a manual of instructions, does a show. Doing a show, as much fun as it is, it's laborious. To entertain themselves and the audience, they tell stories. They speculate on what might be work in the future: who will do it, how it will be done, for whom... And, it's like that, between working and talking about work, that happiness will be sought.
A Manual on Work and Happiness premiered at March 16th at Apollon Theatre, Patras (Greece). This mala voadora's show counts with a group on non-actors participation who, during a couple of weeks, had an experience of performative work coordinated by Jorge Andrade. The manual of instructions needed to the show's concretization will be available at http://amanualonworkandhappiness.eu. All the information will be available for free download ("staging" instructions + Pablo Gisbert's texts + set images to print) and every group of people, everywhere, will be able to create their own version of the play.
A Manual on Work and Happiness is coordinated by Artemrede, co-financed by the Creative Europe programme and has, as partners, the Pergine Spettacolo Aperto Festival (Italy), the L'arboreto (Italy) and the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Patras (Greece).
