Two artists take a DNA test, research history, ask experts and try to understand where their stories may have crossed paths, from family members who know stories, to people who lived hundreds or thousands of years ago: migrations, trade routes that crossed the world, colonialist rule, wars and empires, peace agreements. Although it is a biographical show, in order to tell the story, improve it and fill in its gaps, they will fictionalize narratives about love, betrayal, baby swaps, family rivalries, long travels; and use personal and historical documents, paintings, films, music.
This is the description of a series of shows in which mala voadora brings together two artists from different countries. The first – Slovenia Blood Stories – joined Portuguese Pedro Moldão and Slovenian Miranda Trnjanin. Facing the audience, they build their family trees and, whether to clarify historical facts or to complete information, they resort to books. They are able to determine that their pasts have crossed during the Ottoman Empire, and go back to Lucy, the first human.
