The ARTISTAS DOURO program awards, based on an open competition, 5 scholarships to 5 artists from Porto, with funding from the Porto City Council and the support of A Oficina.
MATRIARCA ’74 is a conversation between a grandmother and a grandson – an actress and an actor – about the revolutionary power of voice, listening and silence. It’s about the feminism of a septuagenarian woman, an April Revolution yet to be fulfilled, the dynamics typical of a family of artists and the fears of what tomorrow holds. There is a call for the time of calm and hugging, in a performative dilution of fiction with auto-biography.
